Discover a different side of Morocco on an 8-day journey through the country’s north. Starting in Tangier, this itinerary combines Mediterranean landscapes, Andalusian heritage, colorful medinas and some of Morocco’s most fascinating historic cities.
From the white streets of Tetouan and the blue lanes of Chefchaouen to the ancient ruins of Volubilis and the lively medina of Fes, this trip is ideal for travelers who want to experience Morocco through its culture, history and local atmosphere.
Your Moroccan adventure begins in Tangier, a city where the Atlantic and Mediterranean meet.
After your arrival, your driver will welcome you and take you to your accommodation. If your schedule allows, we'll head out for a first look at the city and its coastal surroundings.
The evening is yours to relax, enjoy a Moroccan dinner or take a short walk around the neighborhood.
Today you get to know Tangier properly.
Start with the old Kasbah and its maze of small streets before making your way through the historic medina. Along the way, you'll discover local markets, traditional houses and some of the city's most interesting viewpoints.
We'll also visit the Grand Socco and explore some of Tangier's historic landmarks.
Later, enjoy some free time. You can sit at a local café, explore the medina on your own or simply enjoy the sea views.
After breakfast, we leave Tangier and make our way towards Tetouan.
The city has a strong Andalusian influence, particularly visible in its architecture and old medina. Spend some time walking through the historic center before continuing into the Rif Mountains.
By afternoon, we arrive in Chefchaouen.
Known for its blue-painted houses and peaceful mountain setting, Chefchaouen is one of those places where the best way to explore is simply to walk without a strict plan.
Take your time around the old medina, visit Outa el-Hammam Square and enjoy the atmosphere before settling into your accommodation.
After breakfast, the road takes us south towards one of Morocco's most important archaeological sites: Volubilis.
Walk among the remains of this ancient Roman city and admire the well-preserved mosaics and ruins.
From Volubilis, continue to Meknes, one of Morocco's historic Imperial Cities. Explore the old medina, see the monumental Bab Mansour and discover some of the city's royal heritage.
Later, continue to Fes.
Arrive in the evening and settle into your riad or hotel.
Overnight in Fes.
Today is dedicated entirely to Fes.
With a local guide, enter the historic medina and discover a city that has preserved much of its traditional character.
You'll walk through busy souks, artisan quarters and narrow streets where everyday life continues much as it has for generations.
Along the way, see Bab Boujloud, Bou Inania Madrasa, Nejjarine Square and the famous leather tanneries.
There will also be time to stop for a traditional Moroccan lunch or a mint tea before continuing your exploration.
The afternoon is free. Use it to shop for handmade crafts, relax at your riad or discover another corner of the medina.
Overnight in Fes.
After breakfast, leave Fes and head towards Rabat.
Rabat offers a calmer atmosphere compared with the busy medinas of Fes and Marrakech. Here, historic monuments sit alongside wide boulevards and the Atlantic coast.
Visit Hassan Tower and the Mohammed V Mausoleum before continuing to the Kasbah of the Udayas.
Take a walk through its whitewashed streets and enjoy the views over the Bou Regreg River.
Later, explore the medina or relax at one of the local cafés.
Overnight in Rabat.
After breakfast, begin the drive north towards Tangier.
Rather than filling the day with activities, we'll keep the final day relaxed. Enjoy the Moroccan countryside along the route and take some time to rest.
Once back in Tangier, the afternoon is free.
It's a good opportunity to pick up last-minute souvenirs, enjoy the sea or return to a place you particularly liked during your first visit.
Overnight in Tangier.
Enjoy your final breakfast.
Depending on your departure time, you may have a little free time before your transfer to Tangier airport, ferry terminal or another agreed departure point.
Your northern Morocco journey ends here, but hopefully with plenty of memories to take home.
